MR BRAIN W and W/O CONTRAST - Details(Zoe)
Narrative
EXAM: MRI brain with and without contrast.
HISTORY: Optic pathway glioma.
TECHNIQUE: T1 sagittal pre- and postcontrast, axial FLAIR pre- and postcontrast, diffusion, coronal STIR, and coronal fat-sat postcontrast.
COMPARISON: MRI brain with and without contrast December 18 1013.
COMMENT:
Redemonstration of patient's of hypothalamic/optic pathway glioma predominantly involving the optic chiasm the left greater than right optic tract. There is interval slight increased prominence of the lesion component involving the right aspect of the
anterior commissure, without associated enhancement. The punctate focus of enhancement of the left amygdala appears stable. Intrinsic T1 shortening is seen within the left greater than right aspect of the lesion. Stable pineal cyst.
There are normally formed and myelinated cerebral and cerebellar hemispheres. No intracranial mass, mass effect, destructive lesion, hemorrhage or hydrocephalus is seen. Ventricles are normal in size and configuration. Midline images show a fully formed
corpus callosum. No evidence of Chiari malformation. There are normal flow-voids in the major intracranial vessels. No pathologic extra-axial fluid collections.
Mild pansinus mucosal thickening.

Impression
IMPRESSION:
1. Slight interval increase in prominence of a component of the patient's tumor involving the right anterior commissure, with little significant change in overall tumor volume or extent.
2. Stable region of enhancement within the left amygdala.
I have reviewed the above study and report and concur.
